Vacancy Description:

This is your chance to work on one of the most significant Construction projects in the capital! Our client is a leading Consultancy made up of some of the most senior professionals in the Construction industry. Having secured the client side function on this multi-billion pound project in Central London, we have been asked to supply a Procurement Manager to sit above the Main Contractors on the project overseeing all aspects of procurement - determining the brief, scope definition, project feasibility, cost planning, tender process, post contract change control, reporting and final account agreements. Reporting directly to the Clientside Construction Director, this is a challenging position requiring the very best of candidates.

Procurement Manager responsibilities:

- Managing and overseeing the Main Contractor Procurement Teams driving performance, quality and consistency across all processes.
- Developing and employing modelling and estimating techniques to provide accurate rates and costs for a massive annual spend.
- Overseeing tender processes including preparation of tender documentation, evaluation of tenders and the making of detailed recommendations.
- Developing and managing procurement techniques to suit the quantum of programme, initiating solutions which will demonstrate and ensure best value is delivered taking account of quality, programme and health and safety implications.
- Overseeing the procurement of all consultants, suppliers and contractors on site making sure their contracts are well drafted, covering all aspects of risk / liability.
- Monitoring the financial progress of individual works through regular communication and reports, assessing the potential impact of change on the budget, making sure ensuring change control procedures are rigidly adhered to.
- Sitting in on all Final Accounts meetings to make sure all payments are correct.
- Overseeing the Purchase Order process, ensuring the timely release of payments / resolution of issues within SAP.
- Reporting upline on all progress / procurement issues.

Procurement Manager experience required:

- Minimum 10 years experience in a Procurement Manager position.
- Major Project / Contractor experience.
- Degree educated - BSc (Hons) or similar.
- Chartered - MRICS (desirable).
- CSCS card.
- Excellent IT / reporting skills.

This is a long term freelance position paid on a day rate. Working on site you will work with a crack team of professionals helping to deliver one of the most significant projects in the country.
