Vacancy Description:

UKL have an exciting opportunity for an aspiring Business Development Manager to join a new division of large UK corporation providing consultancy services to the public and private sectors. Helping grow this new division the successful candidate will join an innovative team that is offers top of the range management services to blue chip clients.

We are looking for an exceptional Salesperson who has a confident telephone manner and a passion for the construction industry or management consultancy services.

As Business Development Manager the successful candidate's key responsibilities will be:

1. Business Development:
- Monitor sales pipeline and support sales teams with conversion of leads
- Pursue new business opportunities and work with the technical team to proactively develop and nurture existing client relationships
- Deliver new and refresher bid training to staff
- Contribute to business planning workshops
- Develop a business development strategy to identify key clients / routes to market

2. Bid management / production:
- Lead and coordinate the preparation and organisation of bids, proposals and general business development submissions
- Undertake client / competitor analysis and identify critical success factors and development of the bid strategy / winning themes / action plan with the Bid Director and the wider bid team
- Implement the corporate bid process to ensure that commercial, legal and resource requirements are met
- Work closely with graphic design teams to develop quality and engaging bid / tender documents
- Monitor tender activity and report to monthly Business Development Board
- Non-technical authoring

3. Marketing:
- Sourcing of quality marketing materials to support strategic business development activity
- Trade event coordination / attendance
- Proactively market regional 'wins' in collaboration with local, regional and national PR teams

4. General:
- Coordinate, attend and contribute to business development meetings
- Provide dedicated support to key sector leads by developing and maintaining a strong understanding of service offering, market trends and sector activity,
- Support and promote best practice and knowledge sharing through national and regional relationships
- Line management responsibility for Business Development Coordinator & Graphics.

Experience required:

- Relevant experience as Business Development Manager either in the consultancy, construction, public services or outsourcing sectors.
- Strong IT literacy.
- Experience in a telesales based role is essential.
